The portability of SBCL’s timers (which I think you know something about) and threads had me wondering if there was a better way to run things. I guess that you’d only really need an image to stay running all the time if you might need something from it at any time, like a web server or a spider.

But I don’t keep it running; I dumped an image with save-lisp-and-die and just call it from cron.
